Dog Eat Dog and Guiding Hand Premiere!

Thursday, May 20, 2010

THUNDER BAY – Apple Wagon Films will be premiering two new short
films: Dog Eat Dog and A Guiding Hand, both of which were produced in
Thunder Bay.

The screening – on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 7:00 pm – will take place
at the Paramount Theatre, which is located at 24 Court Street South.
Admission is free, but donations would be appreciated.

The premiere will also showcase several other projects developed by
Apple Wagon Films and feature live music performed by Jean-Paul De
Roover.

Immediately following the screenings, writer / director Curtis Jensen
will be in attendance to field any questions posed by the audience.
Curtis is a local filmmaker who has had one dream and one dream alone
for most of his life: to make exciting, engaging and successful films
within Canada. With the completion of Dog Eat Dog and A Guiding Hand,
Curtis is edging closer to realizing that dream.

Dog Eat Dog, which was co-financed by Bravo!FACT, follows two hit men
who are hired by a Mafioso to take out his neighbour’s dog, which is
as cute as it is vicious. The film stars Nicholas Palinka, Rodney
Dwira and Philip Contardo.

A Guiding Hand, which was financed by the Ontario Arts Council,
follows Alex, a junior league baseball player, who is concerned about
his hospitalized and dying grandfather. Unable to keep his mind in the
game, Alex leaves the dug out, only to be greeted by his miraculously
healthy grandfather, who gives Alex a life-altering gift. The film
stars Aaron Tocheri, Philip Contardo and Kim Hansen.
